After the freezing and depressing start to the year spent in lockdown, Londoners can reportedly look forward to brighter and warmer days ahead as spring continues.
Since early April, the capital has enjoyed a string of sunny and bright days and the trend looks set to continue.
According to the MirrorOnline, the warm weather in London will continue, even if the next 24 hours will see highs of 14C.
After that, things will pick up and it won’t be long until we’re sizzling, one leading weather expert claims.
Today is expected to be cooler slightly before a warm end of the week.
The North East could even see daytime lows of 8C today, while things aren’t much better in the south before a big improvement on Thursday and Friday.
It comes as some forecasters say this summer could be the hottest in over a decade.
The mercury could be set to hit 32C inside a few weeks – which should mean a scorcher over the May Bank Holiday.
Meteorologist Jim Dale claims some very warm weather is in front of us.
“There will definitely be some spikes of heat as we go into summer when I expect to see temperatures in the high 20Cs or even the low 30Cs,” the British Weather Services expert said.
“This is largely because of a balancing effect which, after the colder period of weather over the past couple of months, dominated by a northerly airflow, should revert and come from a more southerly direction.
“This will bring more in the way of hotter weather as we go through the end of spring and into summer.
“This summer could be up there with the warmer ones from the past ten years, it is more likely to turn out one of the warmer ones that to be cooler.”
Until the temperatures soar, the Met Office says we should expect cold evenings, with frost possible.
It will be dry for most with spells of warm sunshine and light winds.
The Met Office said: “A settled regime will likely be in place across much of the country at first with high pressure likely to be centred to the west or northwest of the UK during this time.

“However, there is the threat of some rain and a few showers in the North and East.
“There’s a small chance more unsettled conditions with heavier showers could move up from the south to impact southern areas.
“There are the continued threats of rural frost and patchy fog where winds fall light.”
