Eight people were shot, a 13-year-old boy stabbed and police ‘pelted with bottles’ in a weekend of violence in London.

Six men are in hospital suffering from gunshot wounds after they were attacked in Brixton on Sunday (June 13).

Police were ‘pelted with bottles’ by a large crowd as an incident by the London Eye escalated.

And a 13-year-old boy was stabbed in Putney on Saturday (June 12).

Here are the violent crimes which have taken place in the past two days in London.

Brixton shooting and stabbing

Six men are in hospital suffering from gunshot wounds after they were attacked in Brixton on Sunday.

A man, aged 32, is fighting for his life in hospital after being stabbed and shot in the legs while five others arrived at hospital with gunshot pellet wounds mainly to the legs.

The five men’s injuries are not described as life-changing.

A video posted online showed a police cordon closing off Ridgway Road at the junction with Loughborough Road and Colharbour Lane, just yards from Loughborough Junction station.

Teenager stabbed in Putney

A 13-year-old boy was stabbed in Putney on Saturday (June 12).

The shocking incident took place on Cortis Road at about 6.30pm on Saturday.

The boy’s condition is not life threatening.

Officers investigating the incident said they have arrested a male on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

Police were ‘pelted with bottles’ as a situation escalated by the London Eye.

Around 40 police officers, some with protective shields, were spotted around the London landmark after reports that officers on patrol were pelted with items on Saturday (June 12).

Videos and social media posts suggest they were responding to an incident in the area. They later moved to another location on South Bank to respond to a second incident.

The Metropolitan Police said the situation arose after officers on patrol were attacked by a ‘large group’ who threw objects at them.

Officers from several teams arrived at the scene including the dog unit and police helicopters.

Man found with gunshot injuries in Brent

A man found in Brent with gunshot injuries has been arrested.

Met officers were called at 2am on Sunday (June 13) to reports of shots fired in the area of Barry Road, Stonebridge Park.

A 26-year-old man was taken to hospital suffering gunshot injuries to his leg.

A police spokesperson explained the same man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and assault on an emergency worker.

Police say enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances and identify whether any other person was involved.

Shooting and stabbing in Queen’s Park

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was shot and two others were stabbed in Queen’s Park.

Police were called to reports of gunshots near Beethoven Street at around 7.45pm on Sunday evening.

Officers, including firearm officers, dispatched to the scene along with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.

A 26-year-old man was found with a suspected gunshot injury and was taken to hospital by ambulance. His condition is not described as life-threatening.

A second man, a 19-year-old, was found nearby with a stab injury that is not considered life-threatening.

A third victim was also found in the area. The 29-year-old was found injured and was taken to hospital in a non life-threatening condition.
