August ended with a surprisingly cold spell, and although we haven’t resorted to putting the heating on just yet it does feel like summer is officially over.
But it turns out we’re in for a treat, and an Indian Summer is heading our way, with temperatures expected to be 7C above average for this time of year.
BBC weather forecasts that the sun will emerge on Thursday, September 10 with temperatures hitting a high of 20C.

This trend will continue through the weekend, when things start to heat up even more.
On Sunday, September 13 the forecast is for highs of 23C and wall to wall sunshine, then Monday will see highs of 24C and on Tuesday temperatures will climb to 25C.
With the average September temperature at just 18C it’s fair to say this is a lovely Indian Summer.

Sadly, by Wednesday, September 16 things turn more autumnal, with clouds, light rain, and temperatures dropping back down towards the average for this time of year.
Let’s just hope things pick up again towards the end of September.
