We had an incredibly hot summer, followed by a cold snap towards the end of September, and since then it’s been feeling thoroughly autumnal.
After weeks of wearing multiple jumpers and turning the heating up, the capital is forecast to get some unseasonably warm weather, with temperatures higher than normal for November.
In fact, it’s forecast to be above average for this time of year for at least two weeks, if not the rest of the month.

In London the November average high temperature is a chilly 12C – not cold enough for snow, but enough to make you want to avoid going out if you can.
However, on Monday, November 9 areas of London are forecast to get highs of 16C, according to the Met Office forecast.
And this isn’t just a one off – the rest of the week we should experience temperatures of 14C or 15C, with little chance of rain.
In its long range UK forecast for November 13 to November 22, the Met Office predicts “mild and settled conditions are likely to return for the rest of the weekend and into next week” and “temperatures are likely to be at or above average for this time of year, particularly in any brighter spells where it will feel particularly mild”.
Here’s the full Met Office forecast for Heathrow over the next week:
Monday, November 9 – 16C, overcast chaging to light rain by early evening
Tuesday, November 10 – 15C, cloudy changing to sunny intervals by lunchtime
Wednesday, November 11 – 14C, cloudy
