London to be hit with ‘heavy snow’ this weekend as temperatures drop

After a snowy but short-lived weekend, many Londoners will be wondering when the capital can expect to look like a winter wonderland again.

Thankfully, new weather reports suggest we may not have to wait long at all for more snow to fall in the city.

According to BBC Weather, most Londoners should prepare for another weekend of light to moderate snow.

After a week of comparatively mild weather conditions, snow showers will hit the capital on Saturday morning (January 30), between the hours of 6am and 10am.

While the snow isn’t expected to be too disruptive for the majority of Londoners, residents in the Croydon suburb of Kenley should prepare for heavy snow showers from the early hours of Saturday morning right through to the afternoon.

This past weekend, Kenley also had heavier snow compared with the rest of London.

While lots of Londoners went out to enjoy the snow at the weekend, others were outraged when photos emerged of London parks filled with people.

Footage recorded at Alexandra Palace showed what social media users described as a “ridiculous” amount of people revelling in the rare weather conditions.

Numerous London police authorities warned against enjoying the snow outside in order to abide by lockdown rules.
