Met Police make 49 arrests during Euro 2020 final

Met officers made 49 arrests while policing the Euro 2020 final, the force said.

A statement after the game said: “A number of officers remain on duty, helping fans leaving Wembley or central London. We are there to look out for your safety.”

Riot police were seen breaking through the crowds outside Wembley as fans left the stadium.

The force said later officers would be on hand throughout the night.

England fans suffered heartbreak after England lost to Italy on penalties.
