Met Police officer caught with indecent images of children

A serving police officer has pleaded guilty to indecent image offences.

DC Paul Allgood, 60, who was attached to the Met’s Economic Crime Unit, pleaded guilty to three counts of making or possessing indecent images of children and three counts of outraging public decency when he appeared at Wood Green Crown Court on Thursday, April 8.

The court heard that officers from the Online Child Abuse and Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant at his home address in Enfield on 4 June, 2019.

Allgood was arrested there on suspicion of being in possession of indecent images of children.

A total of 20 devices were seized from his home and Allgood was released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.

An analysis of the devices found indecent images of children on five of the 20 electrical devices.

Allgood was charged on 23 November, 2020 and was suspended from all duties in January 2021.

Allgood is due to appear on bail at the same court on May 25 for sentencing.
