Man arrested after group knife fight
A man has been arrested after a fight broke out between a group of males armed with knives outside Ealing Broadway shopping centre.
Police were called to The Broadway just after 4.30pm on Sunday (October 18) to reports of a group of males armed with knives fighting.
Officers attended, and a man, who had been detained by security staff at the scene, was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.
He has been taken into custody.
There were no reported injuries that required hospital treatment.
Enquiries are ongoing.
Local MP Rupa Huq took to Twitter to settle the minds of concerned West Londoners who had heard about or witnessed the “hubbub”.
At around 6pm, she said: “If you saw hubbub in Ealing Broadway an hour ago: after tip off from public, a male with a knife was apprehended for possession, cuffed and taken to Acton police station.
“It wasn’t used.
“Crime scene now lifted and traffic flowing again. Thanks as ever @ealingMPS 4 keeping us safe.”
