Police have halted a stolen Mercedes within an hour of the vehicle being taken and returned it to its owner.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police’s road traffic enforcement division tweeted at 4.41am today that the car had been stolen in Enfield, north London.
It said: “#EastRPT spot stolen Mercedes on #A406 within minutes of it being stolen from @MPSEnfield. Tpac tactics implemented & occupant arrested. Car back with owner less than an hour after being stolen. Thanks to @MetTaskforce for their help”
Tpac (Tactical pursuit and containment) is the name given to a range of pursuit management options open to the police, including the use of “stingers” to deflate car tyres.
