Two stabbed to death and man Tasered in weekend of violence

The Metropolitan Police launched two murder investigations over the weekend after two men were stabbed to death on the streets of London.

The first occurred in Sydenham on Friday night (June 25) where a 19-year old man, named locally as Tata, was found with fatal stab wounds.

The second shocking incident occurred at an ‘illegal rave’ in Bermondsey on Saturday night (June 26).

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Stockholm Road where they found the man suffering from stab injuries and despite their best efforts he died at the scene.

Elsewhere in London, a ‘tornado’ ripped through a quiet Barking street in one of the strangest weather events in living memory.

Residents of Wilmington Gardens in Barking reported feeling “terrified” after strong, tornado-like winds ripped through the street and those adjacent on Friday night (June 25).

Streets including Shirley Gardens, Hulse Avenue and Wilmington Gardens saw significant damage after the freak weather hit around 7pm on Friday, with roof tiles being ripped down and blown through windows, walls crushed by winds and debris destroying car windscreens.

One man saw his entire garden wall destroyed, while another described how his children were out playing on their trampoline mere moments before it was lifted up and flung away by the wind.

19 year old stabbed to death in Sydenham – June 25

Tata was stabbed to death in Sydenham on June 25

A 19-year-old victim stabbed to death in Sydenham has been named locally as Tata.

Emergency services were called to Miall Walk shortly after 9.30pm on Friday, June 25.

They found the teenager suffering from stab wounds but despite their best efforts he died at the scene.

A murder investigation was launched and so far no arrests have been made.

The police have not yet released his full name but he is known to his friends and family as Tata. His mum was crying at the scene this morning with other family members.

Man stabbed to death at ‘illegal rave’ in South London -June 26

A murder investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed to death in an ‘illegal rave’ in South London on Saturday night (June 26).

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Stockholm Road, South Bermondsey after being called to reports of the stabbing at an ‘unlicensed music event’ shortly before midnight.

The industrial unit where the event was held is right next the Millwall Football Club grounds, known as The Den.

They found the man suffering from stab injuries and despite their best efforts he died at the scene.

No further details have been given about the man.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish who the victim was and contact family .

A teenager was also found at the scene suffering head injuries. He was taken to hospital but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The 16-year-old has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Police investigate alleged Rape in Brent – June 27

Police are investigating an alleged rape that is believed to have happened in Gladstone Park on Thursday evening, June 24.

A crime scene has been secured in the North West London park, in the Cricklewood and Cricklewood area of Brent, as the Metropolitan Police looks into the allegation of rape.

No information about the possible victim has been released by the force.

No suspects have yet been arrested, and an investigation is being held by the North West BCU Public Protection Unit.

Police pull dead body of a woman from lake – June 27

The body of a woman was pulled out from a lake in Stanmore on Sunday morning (June 27).

It is not yet known how she ended up in the lake but police were called to Howard Road in the North West London town at 6:30am after hearing reports of a dead body.

Met officers arrived with London Ambulance Service (LAS) paramedics but the woman was already dead.

The body of the deceased person is believed to be a 50-year-old woman. It was recovered from the water with the assistance from the London Fire Brigade.

Enquiries are underway to identify the woman and find out how she came to enter the water.

Police officers rushed to Brixton as man wielding knife tasered and detained – June 27

A man wielding a knife was detained by police in Brixton yesterday (June 27)

Police were called around 5.47pm to Brixton Road in South London after reports of a man with a knife.

Officers attended the scene, as well as paramedics and firefighters.

A crime scene was established and traffic diverted from the area.

A large section of Brixton Road, Stockwell Walk and surrounding roads had been cordoned off

A male in his 20s was later detained nearby at Astoria Walk after a taser was used on him.
