British Transport Police have revealed they managed to reunite a young child with his family early this morning – after the child had travelled 40 miles alone.
British Transport Police were called on to look after the child, identify him and locate their family early on Tuesday.
The emergency came as police dealt with flooding incidents across the city.
British Transport police, sharing a picture of work the child had done to keep busy while waiting for their family, said today: “We safely returned a missing child to his family early this morning.
“Here’s some of his artwork while officers established his identity and discovered he’d managed to travel 40 miles on his own!”
No further details of the incident have yet been revealed.
