Loom Godzilla-like over a giant model of London at this ever-excellent temple to the capital's built environment. The plastic model stretches a dozen metres, taking in the Docklands and Olympic Park in the east, and stretching as far as Battersea in the west.

The walls, meanwhile, are plastered with information about proposed new buildings for the capital. This place often gets left out of the guidebooks, but it's one of the best starting points for getting an overview of London.
